Rotterdam is the second biggest city of The Netherlands. It hosts the largest port of Europe, covering over 100 km², and it was the busiest port of the entire world until 2002.

As Rotterdam was heavily bombed in WWII, it is now one of the most modern-looking cities of The Netherlands. Art is to be found every where and its skyline is unique compared to other Dutch cities.

The photo on the right shows you the Euromast which was built for the 1960 Floriade. The Euromast, which is open to the public, is the highest tower in The Netherlands. It  has an observation platform and a restaurant at a height of almost 100 meters. In 1970 the Space Tower was added which now lets you see Rotterdam and its harbour from a height of 185 meters (approx. 600 feet); spectacular views are guaranteed.

A visit to Rotterdam would not be complete without a tour of its harbour. This can be done in several ways. The fast Spido boat on the first photo offers a 75-minute harbour tour, year round. The bus/boat on the second photo is an amphibian touring bus from the Splashtours company. Please click on either photo for more information.
